POST IMPLANT CARE
- Post implant care can be divided into Immediate care(steps taken immediately after Implant surgery) and Long term care(steps taken for long term success of Life of Implants )
- Immediate care includes having an Icepack, not spitting saliva but swallowing it, having the prescribed medications, having soft diet for the next 2 days etc.
- Long term Implant care is very critical for the success of Life of Implants in our mouth. The outcome of any Implant treatment procedure depends on 4 critical factors. They are namely,
- Quality of the existing bone
- Quality of the crown over the implant
- Efficiency of the surgical procedure and
- Long term Post Implant Care.
Long term Post Implant Care
- Regular Brushing with a tooth brush twice daily.
- Use of Interdental or Proxa brush once daily, that has miniature bristles which can clean the food debris between implant crown/natural tooth and implant crown/gum interface where the regular tooth bristles cannot reach.
- Use of Water flosser once daily that emits controlled jets of water that cleans the food debris accumulated between implant crown /gum or between multiple implant crowns safely
- Use of conventional Dental Floss once daily that removes the food debris inbetween the two adjacent surfaces of the tooth.
